Step-by-Step Admission Process
Follow these steps carefully to complete your admission to HIT Haldia.
Appear for JEE Main or WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination).
JEE Main: Conducted by NTA — nta.ac.in
WBJEE: Conducted by WBJEEB — wbjeeb.nic.in
⚠️ Keep your rank card and admit card safe for counseling.
Based on your JEE/WBJEE rank, register on HIT's admission portal.
Online Registration:
• Visit: admission.hithaldia.ac.in
• Fill application form & upload documents (10th, 12th mark sheets, rank card, photo, signature)
• Pay application fee: ₹1,000 (Net Banking / UPI / Card / DD)
• Fill up to 10 program choices in order of preference
• Choice order matters — select carefully
• Submit before deadline: June 30, 2026
Allotment based on entrance rank, choice preference, category, and seat availability.
Report to HIT campus with originals + 2 photocopies of each document:

✓ Collect admission receipt
✓ Receive student ID card
✓ Get hostel allocation (if opted)
✓ Attend orientation program on August 1, 2026
Valid GATE score in relevant discipline — minimum percentile: 50+
• Visit admission portal: admission.hithaldia.ac.in
• Upload GATE scorecard, B.Tech mark sheets, photo
• Pay application fee: ₹1,500
• Merit list published based on GATE score
• Check portal on: July 10, 2026
• Attend counseling (online/offline): July 15, 2026
• Submit documents, pay fees — admission confirmed
📅 Application Deadline: June 30, 2026
• 3-year Diploma in relevant engineering branch with minimum 60% marks
• Admission through JELET (Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry Test)
• Appear for JELET exam → Apply through HIT admission portal
• Counseling based on JELET rank
• Available seats: 15 per branch (subject to availability)

PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) candidates are also eligible for the Biotechnology program along with PCM students.
