What You Should Do

Steps to protect yourself and help others stay safe

Report Immediately

If you witness or experience ragging, report it immediately to the Anti-Ragging Committee, hostel warden, faculty, or campus security. All complaints are treated with complete confidentiality.

Document Evidence

Keep records of incidents — dates, times, locations, and names. Save screenshots, messages, or any evidence that may support your complaint and help during investigation.

Stay in Groups

Avoid isolated areas especially during late hours. Move in groups and inform friends or roommates about your whereabouts. Safety in numbers is your first line of defense.

Say No Firmly

You have every right to refuse any request that makes you uncomfortable. Stand firm, say NO clearly, and walk away. Report such incidents even if no physical harm occurred.

Support Victims

If you know someone facing ragging, offer support and encourage them to report. Be a responsible bystander — your testimony can make a difference in protecting others.

Submit Anti-Ragging Affidavit

All students must submit anti-ragging affidavits at the time of admission as per UGC regulations. This is mandatory and creates legal accountability for all parties.

Your Safety is Our Priority

Don't suffer in silence. Report ragging incidents immediately. The Anti-Ragging Squad is active 24/7 across the HIT campus and hostels.
